The Curse of Jean-Jacques

Yes, I know the aggressive interest in other people, indulged by reading the best blogs, is an escape from myself...the abyss. So the critics have nothing on me here and should walk with me instead. We, not I, can deliberate. Then at some future date I will be able to say in triumph, "We gave a gift to the world, to eternity!"

Priestess of Delphi

This figurative place where you are now, were you led by choices? A mystery confronts us: what is to be. What has been: unless one suffers from impaired memory, a clarity that supports us. The place where you are now: the moment of choosing or choosing not to choose, resonant of Hamlet's soliloquy. Keep thinking... Choose to think it through rather than acquiesce to those loud advocates of impulse, those who have made their miserable choice, which is to gain advantage by agitation. These are the "Just Do It" set. They are everywhere and need always to be the first seen and heard. You may have heard them sound the alarm at anything that resembles careful thought, in their world, "analysis paralysis". And for them there is nothing to be had by solitary contemplation of any kind. Go read a book, preferrably written by someone who took their last breath a few centuries ago.
